Yippee for the weekend! This past week went by pretty quickly actually, I have to say. Nothing too exciting went down. I did go to the eye doctor for an eye exam, since I haven't had one in awhile. I really liked the eye doctor. Funny guy. Very dry sense of humor. Anyway, my eyes haven't changed at all, apparently making me a very good candidate for laser eye surgery. Now, I just need the $6000 that it costs to get it done here in Australia. Yikes. In the meantime, I'll look forward to picking out new frames! They actually sedate you for the procedure, so it's pain-free. That's good. Still, I'm not looking forward to having it done, however, I am looking forward to having it done and behind me. So, in preparation for the big event, I've decided to eat like a normal person. I mean, really, I want the doctor to see what it gets like when I don't watch every little thing I eat, not the way it can be when I obsess about everything that goes into my mouth. I've learned little tricks that help to keep the pain under control, but what's the point of that when you're about to be sedated to find out what's really wrong?? So, we went out for brekky this morning and I had pancakes (REAL pancakes, not buckwheat ones!), we had lunch out, as well, and I had a chicken burger (with a REAL bun, not a gluten free one!) and we even stopped for dessert in the afternoon and I had an apple dessert and a hot chocolate (not a peppermint tea!). Whoa...what a rebel I've become!;) It was fun, although I have a pretty bad tummy ache at the moment...but it's all for a bigger cause! Either that's true, or it's just me looking for any reason to have a weekend of pure indulgence, without the guilt! Oh! and for those of you who care, we FINALLY got a house phone. Do you know how hard it is to find an old fashioned phone, that isn't a cordless?? Almost impossible, but we finally managed. So, if anyone wants to contact us cheaper, ring away. Above is me, enjoying my dessert, with REAL whip cream! And below...hot chocolate in a glass. How weird is it that all hot chocolate and coffees are served in a glass here, not a mug??
