Another Monday...

So, it was a beautiful day in Montreal on Saturday. Plus 5 and sunny. It felt like spring. We took Jesse to the off leash dog park. There were so many dogs there! It's a really cool place. It's an old golf course that has been converted into a huge area to walk with your dog off lead. There's a large field where the dogs can play and then tons of paths through the woods. Steve took some pics so we'll post them tonight. Anyway, apparently, it was the calm before the storm because today it's nasty. It snowed last night and now this morning it's a combo of hail, freezing rain and rain. I took the train into work this morning as the roads were crap and the traffic on the radio sounded very unpleasant. Tonight Steve and I are maybe going to look at an apartment. It has a dishwasher and a fireplace! How cool would that be??? Anyway...hope everyone had a great weekend. Have a good Monday:)

Oh Jesse Jay...

I think Jesse is seriously having some anxiety issues these days. He's back into getting in lots of trouble while we are away. First it was the Lubriderm lotion that he ate (plastic and all). Then it was the new package of pantyhose. Thank goodness I came home early and literally caught him in the act...He only had time to eat the packaging and not the actual pantyhose. Although he has eaten pantyhose in the past and it was not pleasant for Steve and I later...if you can imagine what I mean... And now just yesterday, he enjoyed a lovely helping of my deoderant (plastic and all). I swear I don't know how we haven't had vet bills through the roof. Thank God he has a strong digestive track. Who needs the stress of kids when you have a dog???

My first voting experience...

Well...Voting for Steve and I turned out to be a huge hassle. After going to 3 different schools in order to find where we were supposed to vote and then not being on the voting list, we were finally able to do the good deed of casting our vote. Wasn't quite as exciting as I had imagined it to be but still it felt good to have a say and voice an opinion. The results weren't too crappy either...That's my impressive political opinion :)

Voting Day

Man the weekends go by so fast. Another long week ahead...
Today is voting day in Canada and I have to say it will be my first time voting. It suddenly seems pretty important now that we live in Quebec. I guess we'll all see what happens tomorrow morning...No way can I stay up tonight for the results...So sleepy...

We have been having some strange ass weather this week, on wed there was so much freezing rain that Montreal was like a skating rink...This morning we woke up to rain and then it turned to snow, heres a pic in case anyone forgot what snow looked like. The power went out a bunch of times wed night. So we did the candle thing, here's a pic in case anyone forgot what a candle looked like.....

So yeah it's true, I gave my notice at Ubisoft. It was'nt an easy choice, I really like the project and the people I work with....not much else to say about that. I start at A2M on Feb 6th. I'll be working with Darryl Purdy again, he's a animation lead there.

FYI...

The pics that I just posted were taken from Gibby's website. It shows the courtyard, dining room and lounge.

An update on our lives...

So, it's been awhile since I have had the chance to post anything new. It's been super busy at work! But just to update you on the big news, Steve got a new job! He is leaving Ubisoft for A2M. He starts in 2 weeks and gave his notice at Ubisoft yesterday. I'll let Steve post any details later! He's pretty excited about it and since we will both be working right downtown now, we're going to start looking for an apartment in the city, which I am very excited about! Last night to celebrate, we went to a really nice restaurant in Old Montreal called Gibby's (it's a steak and seafood place). The food was great, the service was fantasic and the atmosphere was very cool. It's very expensive but worth the trip every now and then. Thanks to Lisa and Dave for the gift certificate for there also! Anyway, if ever you are in Montreal and want a good dinner, I would definitely recommend Gibby's!

the cone's final moments...

So Jesse is officially cone free. I took it off him on Friday night and so far no sore eye, so I think he might finally be in the clear. The funny story is, after I took it off him, I put it in the spare bedroom and the next thing I know Jes comes dragging it out, barking at it and biting at it! I think he was seriously telling it off! It was so crazy yet hilarious! I wish I would have thought to get a picture but I was just so shocked that he was freaking out at his cone! Anyway, you should have seen it. I think he was pretty sick of the thing! It is now covered in bite marks and will be put to rest, safely out of Jesse's reach. Poor cone.

Ma classe de francais...

Well it's official...I am taking my French class every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6 to 9. I had my first class last night and I actually really enjoyed it! The teacher is awesome and it's nice to speak French with people at the same level as me. Plus I'm really liking being in class again and using my brain! So, I think I'm going to learn a lot and definitely should be speaking fluent French in no time:) I'll keep you posted on my progess as I'm sure you're all so interested!! Must go watch LOST....Nite!

Pics from our Girls' Nite out...Sexy ladies!

Lyndsay looking lovely.
Me and Stacey.
Katie, Amy and Melissa getting ready to leave for the bar.

I'm getting old...

Well...As you know, Saturday night was girls' nite out. We met at our place for drinks and munchies before heading to a bar close to our house. We danced like crazy and had an awesome time. I didn't get to bed until 4:30 in the morning and then our landlord's dogs starting barking and loudly crying non stop from 7:30 in the morning on! It was so loud it felt like they were in the bedroom with us! They must have been in the room directly under our bed. I even tried putting cotton balls in my ears but it didn't help. This is becoming a serious issue. They are so loud and if my landlord is away for 8 hours then the dogs howl and cry and bark straight for 8 hours! Steve and I have decided to complain. If he wasn't our landlord we would have complained a long time ago! We're just lucky that Jesse doesn't react to them! Anyway, man was I hurtin yesterday! I don't know how people go out like that like every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night! I'm still feeling tired today at work! Anyway...it was lots of fun and I will post some party pics tonight :)

Just an update on our day...

Well, today we went to a really cool shoe store where they sell great shoes from all over-ALDO, Transit, Hush Puppies, etc...) super cheap. They were having a sale...buy one pair of shoes and get the second pair for one penny! Yeah so needless to say...I bought shoes:) I must say, Steve scored lots of good husband points...he showed extreme patience as I painfully decided between so many pairs of shoes! Anyway...we also went to the hardware store where Steve bought all the stuff he needs to build us a new coffee table. He's quite excited to have a new project on the go. Tonight is girls' night out. Everyone is coming over to my place for drinks and then we're off to go dancing. Looking forward to it! Steve is playing taxi driver and working on his building project. Well that's the scoop. Must go shower and decide what to wear...
