This is what I should have done...

With yet another cold, complete with sinus pain and headache, I dragged myself out of bed only to have one of the busiest, most stressful days I've had in quite some time. The kids definitely left their listening ears at home today, regardless of how many times they assured me they hadn't and they were working. Does clicking your ears as if to show that your listening ears are on count if it's done while climbing all over each other and laughing and giggling when you're meant to be "sitting properly, criss cross applesauce" ? I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I seem to be catching one daycare illness after another and frankly, I'm really sick of being sick. There's just no chance for my immune system to build back up before another kid sneezes in my face while I'm tying their shoe or picks their nose and then grabs my hand to go play. Ick! I'm taking extra vitamins, eating well and getting lots of rest. What more can a girl do to keep from catching every little germ? Seriously, any thoughts?

Consider your Acid/Alkaline PH balance. Western diets tend to leave acid ash in the body. When you know which foods are acid or alkaline forming you can balance your food to maintain an alkaline state = healthier, stronger immune function etc.

Don`t neccessarily avoid acid forming foods but if you eat them then counter by eating Alkaline forming food.

Google "acid alkaline foods" and you will get lots of lists. Since you already avoid glutens and dairy you are well on your way.Once you understand what foods are what it`s easy to eat a balanced meal.

Indeed! Garlic is an alkaline food.

If you can`t incorporate fresh garlic into your diet(the best choice)then suppliment with capsules.

I personally use organic apple cider vinegar with the "mother"(1tsp)in low salt V8 juice as a morning tonic.

Works great...can`t remember the last time I had a cold/fu. Been,lterally,years.

Oh yeah.....the simplest thing to do to stay alkaline. Lemon/lime wedges in water. Not only does it maintain your PH but hydrates you as well.Have a glass first thing in the AM and with meals and you`re golden.

Okay....for reals do this. I know I've talked about it on my blog but for reals it's working.

Put an onion (with the skin still on) in a bowl in every room and leave it there. I have all of mine out of sight. We have NOT gotten sick at all not once this year. And I don't have to tell you about the houses Matt goes into at times.

Next...I agree with George on the Apple Cider Vinegar. It also is good to take for food allergies and I often take it after I've had something that I'm allergic to and it ALWAYS helps. I just dilute it with water though and down it and then drink some water afterward because it's pretty strong. Which reminds me...I should go get some.

Last...my Dad swears by this...vicks vapo rub on the bottom of your feet and then put socks on. I know it's sorta warm there right now but maybe just do it in the evenings or do it at night when you can keep socks off but aren't walking on them.

Feel better!

Did a little research and found Melrose Organic Apple Cider Vinegar produced down under. Online it`s actually cheaper than what I pay for it hereabouts.

Check it out.
PS - I did here about vicks on the feet too...a lady at work swears by it.
