Finally getting around to posting the last of the Melbourne pictures. Darryl and Stacey were kind enough to let us borrow their camera (thanks guys!). We really need to get a new camera, ours is on it's last legs! We really enjoyed Melbourne. A much bigger city than Brisbane with lots of culture and always something going on, much like Montreal. Our first impressions were good. The people were friendly, the weather pretty good. And, our hotel room had heat, what a treat! We spent our first day walking around, eating in yummy restaurants (I have missed the variety of restaurants...Brisbane doesn't have the best places for dining out, or at least not as much choice) and shopping. Here's a few of the photos from when we first got there...
The plane...
Quick map check...
So much like Montreal! Steve and I were both surprised at how much we actually missed Montreal! We didn't realize until we spent a weekend in a city that felt like it!

I love the sound of the horses trotting on the street...
City tram...
Lots of people everywhere...very busy!
The city circuit tram, which is free and goes the entire outer circle of the city. They tell you facts about the city and info about different things. Steve and I took it a couple of times and saw lots of the city that way!
You may have noticed that most of the pictures are of me. That's because Steve took most of the pics but you will see the occasional one of him! And, that brings me completely up-to-date on our first trip to Melbourne. Now I really want to see Sydney, so I can compare all the cities...

This shopping area had the most amazing chocolate shop ever! I don't even usually like chocolate that much but even I went back 3 days in a row to get one! Steve, the chocolate lover LOVED them...they were expensive (about $2 a chocolate but so worth it!). There were a lot of chocolate shops and cafes there.
We had dinner on Friday night in China Town. The best dumplings ever! I'm obsessed with dumplings at the moment and would love to know how to make them. You may have noticed that most of the pictures are of me.
