Camping...Noosa North Shore

Friday evening, Steve picked me up from work and we headed off to Noosa on yet another camping adventure! This time, we were invited to spend a weekend on a piece of private property owned by a friend of Kate's family. The property is located on the North Shore of Noosa, which meant we took a ferry to get there. The property is one of only a few pieces of private property, which is now surrounded by National park. The property is all equipped for camping, complete with a kitchen sink! I was impressed with the set-up! Even the "dunny" or outhouse wasn't that bad. The best part...it's right by the beach and beach goes on forever and ever...absolutely beautiful. We had the most relaxing weekend. It was nice to go camping and just chill for a change. No long hikes, just blissful walks on the beach, naps in the middle of the afternoon, lots of reading, lots and lots of eating and the occasional glass of wine. Just what we all needed! I finished the book that I've been reading and worked a little on my knitting, while Kate cross-stitched. We chilled to the sound of the waves and the occasional bark from Jesse, who was thrilled to be able to go camping with us! He hasn't been on a camping trip with us before in Australia because the parks never allow dogs. He loved the water (of course!) and was one tired puppy when we got home!

On the drive to Noosa, Jesse decided he wanted to sleep on the floor by my feet, like he did when he was a puppy in our Neon. Unfortunately, the Yaris doesn't have the same amount of space and all he could do was sit there. This is after he decided to lay on my lap for awhile...
Nice cozy fire waiting for us when we got there. It wasn't very cold at all over the weekend. I didn't even break out my hat or gloves.
Steve and his shark pants...
We woke up Saturday to a beautiful blue sky morning. It was actually really nice both days. This is part of the very bumpy road into where we camped. Dan and Amy actually got pretty stuck in the sand on Friday night trying to get there. The boys had to go help push them out.
The campsite area. So private! We didn't see anyone around our site, except for a kangaroo who hopped right by. Jesse wasn't very impressed with him!
Jesse on one of his many beach runs...
The path back to the campsite from the beach...it was about a 10 sec walk.
Lots of 4WD on the beach. People aren't allowed to camp there (unless they are on private property) but they can come and spend a day. The beach is also used as a way to get to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island.

We shared meals, as always. Here's Amy preparing breakfast on Saturday morning...
"No more pictures, please."
This was not a healthy weekend. This was a very unhealthy weekend. LOTS of food and fat and more fat, but oh so good!
We went swimming, me in my wetsuit because I'm a wimp and hate being cold...
...Kate and Morgan weren't so wimpy...
Camels just came strolling by...Jesse didn't even pay attention to them. He was more interested in where his ball was...

Maxin' and relaxin'...
Firewood hunt.

Saturday evening sunset...

Camp kitchen clean-up...
Saturday evening dinner...

Jesse rolling after a day in the salt water and sand...
The road in and out of the camp was very narrow at times. I had to dodge the tree branches that came crashing in the window!
Ferry ride back...it took literally maybe 2 minutes. Reminded me of the ferry at home on the Lahave River.
Steve enjoying the 2 minute ride...
Jesse sleeping on the car ride home. Doesn't look very comfortable!

A special thanks to Kate and Morgan for arranging the weekend...we had a wonderful time!

Camels??? Get out!! See now I think that even I could camp there just because there's a sink and the beach and all that.
