Getting to know me at Christmas!

I received this by email from Katie and Selena and thought it would be fun to do on the blog instead. Just spreads a little Christmas fun! Here thoughts on Christmas stuff...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper...I love wrapping presents!

2. Real tree or Artificial? Unfortunately, artificial but if we were in Canada, then it would be real for sure!

3. When do you put up the tree? The first of December, or close to it.

4 When do you take the tree down? Usually New Year's Day.

5. Do you like eggnog? I love it but it makes me sick:(

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember loving the Christmas that I received cross country skis!

7. Hardest person to buy for? Hmmm...I don't think anyone is too tough...

8. Easiest person to buy for? My Mom.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Nope, but I got really excited when I saw one outside a church the other day...felt a little Christmasy!
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm...not sure I have ever received a bad Christmas present...
11. Favorite Christmas Movie? I don't really have a specific favorite but I love watching Christmas movies on TV...I should look into what ones they show on TV here...We also went to see 'Four Holidays' last night, which was fun, even though it did make me miss my family even more!
12. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Early, now that I have to post things...maybe around October.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but I sometimes recycle cards into cool gift tags
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Stuffing, Quality Street candy and Turtles. AND the best thing happened yesterday...our friend Vic, who lives here and is from Canada as well, found Quality Street candy at an imported candy shop downtown and bought us some! I was so excited! Thanks Vic! Now, if we can just find Turtles here, we'll be all set!

16. Lights on the tree? Well, this year our tree is made of only lights, but usually we would have a tree with white lights. I miss when Christmas was pretty and elegant. It's very tacky here but I figure I might as well embrace it!

17. Christmas song(s)? I love so many! I love, love, love Christmas music! I really like 'I'll Be Home for Christmas' and this year, I really appreciate 'White Christmas'!

18. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Yup...of course! Now I just need to learn the names of all 8 of Santa's roos, you know, the ones he uses when he's here in Oz...
19. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star.

20. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Morning and one little one on Christmas Eve.

21. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The line ups at the post office!!!! Oh my goodness, the line ups!!!!

22. Theme or color? Christmas colors.

23. Still do a stocking? We haven't the last couple of years but I really miss having one! I think next year we should!

25. When do you go to Church? We don't do church here.

Okay, now let's see...I tag Kristi, Lorianne, and Kate to do this too! :)

1. Wrapping paper. I like ribbons and bows and stickers. I also like boxes.

2. Real! We do have loads of real christmas trees in Australia Cari, you just need to know where to go to get them. They smell beautiful too. That's my favourite bit, the yummy scent and when the cats try to play with decorations.

3. I've never put up my own tree away from my parents. Isn't that odd? I guess its because I always try to get home for christmas.

4. See above.

5. Not hugely. It's a bit rich for me. I prefer mulled wine (e.g. wine with cloves, orange peel etc...)

6. Ooooh, remote controlled car, a Sony walkman or rollarskates.

7. My step-sister, she's very fussy.

8. Everyone else!

9. Nope.

10. Nothing is horrible per se, but I've received lots of beauty products made with things that irritate my skin. Essential oils and natural products please!

11. It's a Wonderful Life

12. It depends. When Morgs and I first met we both did all our Christmas shopping on Christmas eve. I often think about presents for a while before buying them.

13. ??

14. I think I've left beauty products that I couldn't use (see question 10.) at people's houses.

15. I have a weakness of mince pies. My mother-in-law makes them from scratch and I am a total addict! Apart from that I just adore turkey/stuffing/potato with gravy. I love gravy! Nom nom nom!

16. I love lights! I used to have Christmas lights in my home all year around. I like plain white lights in my real christmas tree. So magical. One of my favourite things to do is wander down the hallway at night and sit and watch the christmas tree light up the living room and sparkle outside. I also love going outside and crunching through the snow and seeing the lights on inside the house.

17. So many!!! My current humming favourite is one that I don't even know the name of, but the lyrics go: "It's the most wonderful time of the year..." I think I'll need a copy of your CDs!

18. No.

19. star

20. Christmas morning

21. Wishing I had more money to buy more pressies!

22. Silver and blue this year (it must be the heat!)

23. We never had stockings when I was growing up. We would go camping at the beach and decorate the native trees with tinsel and exchange gifts and eat curry. It was the most wonderful time.

24. ??

25. I go to church with my mum on christmas eve to sing songs, but not when I'm by myself.
